Ardgroom Stables is a family-run business that breeds and produces sport horses to a top-class level. The Lowney family originates from Ardgroom, a village on the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland.
The name Ardgroom refers to two gravelly hills deposited by a glacier, Dromárd and Drombeg. The village lies to the northwest of Glenbeg Lough, overlooking the Kenmare River estuary, and is situated between the coast and the Slieve Miskish Mountains.
